    RECONDO (RECONnaissance commanDO), was
    a MACV (Military Assistance Command - Vietnam)
    Special Forces Jungle Warfare school established at
    Nha Trang, Republic of Vietnam in 1964 by order of
    General William Westermoreland.  According to
    RECONDO-qualified Airborne Rangers:

    The RECONDO School consisted of Ranger-train-
    ed 5th Special Forces (SF) Group instructors who
    trained American soldiers and Marines as well as members of other Allied forces in Reconnaissance
    and Patrolling techniques. The course required a high level of physical fitness and concluded
    with an actual combat patrol prior to completion of the course to demonstrate the students' know-
    ledge and capabilities. The 20-day course had a failure rate of one third. The course graduated over
    3,000 American and 333 Allied troops during the Vietnam War (1955-1975).  RECONDO gradu-
    ates later went on to join Long Range Patrol (LRP/LRRP Ranger) teams with their respective units
    and served as the eyes and ears of their respective infantry division.  The high standard of fitness
    paid off when LRP/LRRP Rangers led 5, 10 and 15-mile penetration raids deep into Communist-
    held territory and destroyed enemy supply dumps, marshaling points, set ambushes and brought
    back valuable intelligence on enemy-held locations.

    Welcome to RECONDO FIT!
    The toughest personal training regimen in Texas!   RECONDOFIT is the brainchild of Mike
    Stewart BSTI PFT, a fitness trainer in Houston, Texas and has been established along Airborne
    Ranger/U.S. Army guidelines with the emphasis on one principle:  No Quiting.  Clients must chal-
    lenge each established requirement, pass it and move to the next challenge in order to become
    RECONDOFIT Qualified; qualification allows the clients to later take part in much tougher training
    held at Allen Parkway, Memorial Park and Terry Hershey Park in Houston, Texas.   Clients must
    wear the appropriate clothing for each challenge and adhere to all safety commands by the
    instructor.

    Joining RECONDOFIT
    To be accepted into the RECONDOFIT program, clients must attend the RECONDOFIT
    weekend training boot camps and follow ascribed nutritional guidelines, then, when the client is
    ready, a ninety (90) day time limit will begin and clients must then challenge (and pass) each phase.
    To be accepted into the program, clients must be in moderate physical conditioning and have the
    time available to train.

    Challenging the RECONDOFIT School
    To become RECONDOFIT-qualified, clients must challenge the follow requirements and pass
    each.   If a client fails a challenge, he/she must start the *entire* RECONDO-FIT Challenge over.
    The guidelines are tough, based upon current military fitness ajudication for all levels of military
    service.   Ready?  Here we go:

  1. RECONDO FIT Weight-loss Requirement.  Loose ten (10) lbs of bodyfat within ninety
    (90) days/three (3) months of starting RECONDOFIT;
  2. RECONDOFIT 5-mile Challenge.  Challenge and pass the five-mile (5m/8.6km)
    Commando Speed March at Allen Parkway;
  3. RECONDOFIT 10-mile Challenge.  Challenge and pass the ten-mile (10m/16.1km)
    Commando Speed March at Memorial Park's "Ho Chi Minh Trail" (behind the softball fields,
    off Memorial Drive);
  4. RECONDOFIT PT Test.  Perform thirty (30) push-ups, five (5) 45-yard windsprints, and
    a second set of thirty (30) pushups within twenty (20) minutes;

    The RECONDOFIT Graduate
    Upon completion of all four (4) RECONDOFIT Challenges, the client will then be awarded his
    RECONDOFIT t-shirt:

  • RECONDOFIT graduates will belong to an elite group of fitness enthusiasts who have
    met, challenged and passed obstacles to reach a goal;
  • RECONDOFIT graduates will be allowed to take part in military-style fitness boot camps
    at Allen Parkway, Memorial Park and Terry Hershey Park in Houston, Texas;
  • RECONDOFIT graduates will be allowed to participate in various RECONDOFIT,
    military-style programs, military charity drives and other events in the Houston area.

    You will discover that you have been pushed faster, harder and longer and will have developed
    the RECONDOFIT spirit that will keep you lean and mean long after you have left the
    RECONDOFIT family.

    So ... while your friends go to the gym and don't make any progress, you will discover that you can
    push beyond the limit and keep going, for a lifetime.  RECONDOFIT is about taking your body
    into retirement, into your 40's, 50's and 60's ... by then, will you be in shape?  Or will you be
    overweight, obese and fat like everyone else?

    RECONDOFIT is not for everyone.   If you don't like to sweat or the delayed onset of muscle
    soreness is too much to bare, or you don't have the time to devote to weekly RECONDOFIT
    training, don't sign up.  You must be ready for RECONDOFIT.

    Your body is about to change.

    Make it RECONDOFIT.

                 RECONDOFIT DONT QUIT.
RECONDO FIT              DON'T QUIT
