CHOOSING A FITNESS GOAL PHOTO

    My 2011-2012 Fitness Goal Photo
To set a fitness goal, you must have a Fitness Goal Photo.  If you don't have a fitness goal photo,
what can you base your future physique profile on?  How can you track your own transformation?
In short, what is it that you want to accomplish?  The purpose behind a fitness goal photo is to
give you a visual prop that you consistently look at, remember and goal-set.  Choosing a fitness goal
photo is a great way for you to begin looking forward to a physique you want, that is realistic and
that is visually impressive to motivate you to eat right and exercise.

What do I choose?  A fitness goal photo can be a photo of anyone:  a Hollywood actor/actress, an
athlete, porn star, or, like the one I have chosen for my 2011-2012 fitness goal - a reject from
    MTV's hit show Jersey Shore.

I found the above two photos on MTV's website.  The gentleman pictured (above) described
himself as "a Jersey Guido" (of Italian extraction) who was attempting to join the cast of Jersey
Shore.  'Jersey Guido' didn't make the cut although he does look a lot like Pauly D,  but he did
become my 2011-2012 Fitness Goal Photo due to his superb physique!  Of all the physiques that
I have viewed over the past several years, this photo best resembles the physique goals I wish to
work toward:  3-4% bodyfat, linear abdominals, with striation in the chest and deltoids.
Jersey Guido may not have made it on Jersey Shore, but his physique is truly a work of art - and its
*exactly* the proportion I am looking for in my own physique transformation.

My 2010 Fitness Goal Photo last year was Jared Leto.  Leto's photo made the rounds of the
internet with many people amazed at his transformation.  Leto's look however was too lean for me
to reach, as he is a super-ectomorph (I am a typical, lean ectomorph), so I changed my fitness goal
photo from Leto to Jersey Guido.

    You get the idea.

    Choosing a Photo
A good place to look are Google, the classifieds on www.craigslist.com, Hollywood gossip
websites (for shirtless pics of guys and bikini pics of girls) or find a hard copy photo of an athelete in
a fitness magazine or periodical.  Whatever you choose, bring the photo to your workout session
and well post it to your training file and look at it each time you come in to pump iron.  Or, if you
want, I will post it on the training wall, next to the monthly calendar so everyone can see it.

    Keep your goals realistic
Keep your goals realistic.  Do not bring in a photo of a bodybuilder and tell me, "I want to look
like this in four weeks."  Establish goals within reason.  Know your weaknesses and strengths; a
Fitness Goal Photo should match your (realistic) goals but also (within symetry) your bodytype.
somatype - Ectomorph, Endomorph or mesomorph.
